ok guys serious noob question... i just found and snagged an epiphone valve jr hotrod for the price of only 150 ;) and its lil brother for 50!!!!!!! now comes the embarrassing question how do i run the hotrod as a standalone reverb tank??? just run my amps send through the input and the return through the reverb?

It depends on how you want to use it.
Bitmo sells a kit to convert a VJr head to a stand alone reverb, like the 6G15 (?). It is used as a very oversized pedal. you plug your guitar into it and plug it into your amp. It has a foot switch to turn it on and off.
One could also make something like the reverb systems that use separate amp and speakers for reberb. Use an A/Y box to send your signal to the VJr on demand and install a reverb in it. Something like a belton digital on the input would do it.
I am sure I can think of other ways as well.
