Finally a quick pic of the "Strele"

Too lazy to resurrect the original thread, but the 'strele' is finally almost complete. After several attempts and sanding back to bare wood, this cheap pine (and very soft) is playable. Only thing missing is strap buttons.
Found a brand new Fender MIM maple neck for a reasonable price, Wilkinson vintage Kluson style tuners, Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Tele pups, and a DiMarzio SD1 in the middle, 5-way super switch and Rutter's angled control plate, electrosocket, Wilkinson bridge, I'm sure I'm leaving something out...
Here's a quick phone pic, butterscotch blonde with Behlen Nitro top coat.
I'll try and get better pics in a day or two. Schedule is hectic.
Control plate looks funny, just reflection of popcorn ceiling in garage...

Jupiter, I may take it down to a satin finish at some point. Can't make up my mind.

I've always liked the appearance of these, strats have so much pickguard to me. I saw one on the "Stratosphere" ebay store homepage a while back and thought it was a creative and good looking design.

Thanks. Finish schedule: sealed with shellac, Butterscotch blonde lacquer, Behlen Musical Instrument Lacquer clear gloss, nitrocellulose.

I like this! Is the Di Marzio new? I put a SD1 in my Strat (bridge p'up)when I bought it in 1980 and its still going strong. I love the Rutters angled plate, good idea. I moved the volume knob closer to the tone on my Tele and covered the hole with a 5c coin. Might get myself a Rutters.

Crafty, I opted for everything new on this guitar, except the black knobs that were lying around. The SD1 is new and all the hardware, and the CS Texas Specials.
