Here's a live, soundboard recording of us playing Boston's "More Than a Feeling" from one of the four weekend services:

Three male vocalists
Three electric guitars
Two acoustic guitars
Bass
Drums (me)

It was a blast!

I'll listen later, but can you explain how you're getting away with playing more Than a feeling during a church service? And can you please talk to my worship leader?

Hahahaha. It's a very fun church. I've had the privilege of playing at several churches, one in CA and one here, that love using popular media to help convey a message. It get's peoples attention and is just plain fun! Heck, we played "Highway to Hell" last Easter!

:) Yeah, the AC/DC tune certainly grabbed people's attention. Not much coffee needed that morning.

best i've ever been able to do is "turn, turn, turn" during a series on ecclesiastes.

a friend of mine has started a church and just about every week before he speaks they play a "secular" song that goes along with what he's talking about. one week i visited it was a linkin park song. not totally sure what it had to do with the message, but the band pulled it off quite well.

Ha! Actually I played drums on this particular tune. The guy who sang lead and played main guitar parts is Shawn Lewis, who was in a great band called Hyper Static Union.

That came out really nice!

Was that a FOH stereo out mix or a multi-channel out recording with post-production?

The answer is quite simple really. I'll be quite happy to tell you in a PM so as not to break any forum rules.
