thought I'd share some kooky stuff from our recent gig, when I pulled out the fretless Tele partscaster:

Garden of Eden (Bluegrass Edition) India meets country music in this Johnny Cash vs.the Brindabani Sarang raga mashup:

Five this one's a little harder to classify: Hendrix-ish prog vs raag Hemavathi vs funk with a hint of Bengali character in the phrasing of the melody.

Enjoy!

very cool stuff you are doing.

it seems the fretless gives you a palm mute-ish sound, without the ability to lift the palm. is that a fair assessment, or just what you happened to be doing in these clips?

thanks guys! ;) there's more clips from that show using a Gretsch, but thats the Tele segment.

Gypsymoth, there is a little less sustain inherent in a fretless, but I'm also using flatwounds to help with the sliding and also minimize the wear and tear on the fingerboard. I think the flats are a good part of the palm mute sound youre picking up on. I may go back to rounds or coated rounds at some point, but the flats are interesting for now.
