NPD: TC Electronics Flashback Delay

Just grabbed one of these pedals from my local GC. They had a 12% off coupon that was good for the next 48 hours (I'm sure they'll have another one in a day or two ) so I saved a bit of $$$. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but it seems to have all of the features I'm looking for. One odd thing - mine didn't come with a user's manual. I downloaded the manual from the TC Electronics web site and it says that the box should contain a manual. The box for my pedal appeared to have the original seal intact so I don't think I got a pedal that someone else had returned. Can anyone else who has bought one of these lately post and let me know whether or not their pedal came with a manual?

Don't think it did, come to think about it.

I got a TC Alter Ego (basically a Flashback with a couple different settings - made especially for ProGuitarShop) and it didn't come with a manual either...

No manual in mine either. I love mine though, it's my go-to delay that does everything I need and more. The toneprint function alone is worth the cost of the pedal.

Cool pedal. Undoubtedly, the manual is online. Enjoy it!

Thanks for the replies. I guess a printed manual isn't actually included.

On the subject of the Alter Ego, are the two new settings on that pedal reason enough for me to return the Flashback and get the Alter Ego instead?

Not unless you really want it for the Echorec and DMM presets, otherwise it's the same pedal as the Flashback. Same goes for the Trinity reverb, for that matter.

As for the lack of instruction manuals in the boxes, it seems none of TC Electonic's TonePrint pedals are being shipped with manuals anymore (they did when they first came out).

Cost savings I guess. They're downloadable which is fine. I was just wondering if mine was a returned unit and the first buyer forgot to put the manual back in the box when he returned it.

gtrguru: seems you got your self a collectors item already. laughs.

save a tree, who needs instructions anyhow. laughs. joking aside. i use to be a logger before getting hurt. we do have the replanting and rotation thing down.. even if it takes 20-30 years between harvest. as a teen they gave us a week off of school to go plant trees and get paid for it too. good old days. week off for hunting too.

I bet it was a good workout though.

Maybe this book is a collectible. I'll start the bidding at 100 rupees.
