IM going to start this thread off by saying, HOW DID I GO THIS LONG WITHOUT THIS AMP !!!!!

I stumbled across this thing at a GC in Denver, never heard of it, obviously neve played one, and aske the sales guy, "do these things have a descent gain channel?!?!". He should have slap me in my fat mouth when I said that !!!

I truly don't believe I've ever heard a more versatile amp ! This thing has the classic Fender Chimu clean I love and can't live without AND a gain that absolutely crushed my Orange AD140 and Mesa Rectoverb !!! I've ha it for a day, and all 7 guitars sound amazing and each their own sound through it, which is truly something I think is SO HARD to find in an amp !!!

Mine luckily is one f the first 200 to be built, and the matching 2x12 is one of the first 100. Both in mid 1993

They should be called toneMonster. I've yearned for one of those ever since they were introduced. Me VERY envyous.

Very cool amps. I couldn't afford one when they were new, and then they were gone. I've never seen a used one for sale. Good score.

Nice looking amps, but I had the opposite experience - I actually owned one that Jimmy Page had used on the Page & Plant tour in the '90's. It came with a 4 x 12 cab and I then bought a separate 2 x 12 to use on gigs. I found the gain channel really ice-picky. No warmth at all. Maybe it was a lemon, I don't know. I stuck with it for a year or so and then sold it - got a Vibroking instead which I used for a long time. I'd love to have another go with a Tone Master though - I keep looking for them occassionally...

Glad it works well for you, though

Bought my Tonemaster this past winter. Fantastic amplifier!! I suspected the Vintage 30's were making it a little harsh sounding, but a quick speaker swap, and my suspicions were correct. Now its very warm and VERY smooth.
