I'm getting a buzz on the 5th and 6th strings of my Tele. I only get the buzz between the 7th and 12th fret. Should I adjust the bridge saddle or truss rod?

Neither. You should first diagnose what's going on.

Measure the relief. Hold down the string at the first and last frets. Have lots of relief? Tighten the truss rod. You want the neck just about as straight as can be.

After you've checked the relief, then you check the action. What's it at? 4/64" is pretty low, 6/64" starts to feel pretty high.

If you have the relief set right and still get buzzing with the action at about 5/64", then you start looking for the high frets.

If you start making adjustments before measuring to solve a problem, it's like having brain surgery without figuring out why you have headaches.

Diagnosis first, treatment second. Always.

Well...I tried. Looks like I will be dropping it off for service. I used a straight edge to help me straighten out the neck. I've now turned a 2 string buzz into a 4 string buzz. LOL

Usually straightening the neck (less relief) will lower the action. You will quite often have to raise the bridge saddles a bit. If you think you have F'd it up, now might be a good time to try a bit of adjusting for the experience - see what happens, you can't go to far off...
