Brad Paisley - Make a Mistake

This is a fun, jazzy, finger style number from his "Mud on the Tires" album. There are actually two songs called "Make a Mistake" on that album. This is the first, non-instrumental version. I like it because it's just Brad and his guitar. The second, instrumental version has the full band.

It's tricky and very fast, but most of it falls into repeated fingering patterns that make it a little easier than it looks. Learn the patterns, and you are halfway home.

I've included some chord diagrams that show the "chords" you play to make this work. I used a chord identifier to pick the names. There are probably better choices for some of the chords, so if anyone has better ideas, I'd love to hear them! Accuracy is very important to me.

If you aren't familiar with the song, the sour notes at the very end are intended. That's part of the joke: Make a mistake.

Enjoy!

Awesome! Can't wait to run through this later tonight. As a BIG Paisley fan, this has been on my "to learn" list for a while.

Cheers!

is there a link to find the song itself? I searched YT but only found the one of him singing?

The one of him singing is the right one. Here's a link. Someone actually joined the two versions together here. The transcription I did ends where he says "whoops! help me out," and the full band comes in.

I don't know how they snuck in, but there are some odd notes in bars 47 and 48. The 4's with the slide off should not be there.
