Country Effects?

I'd like to record some country/country-rock tracks, but I'm having a hard time finding a compressor, chorus and tremolo that will get the job done and wont cost me a fortune. My basic setup is a Tele with Duncans, a 50 Watt Hiwatt and a Tubescreamer. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Fezz Parka, I see what you did there.

That said, there a million pedals out there that will get the job and can fit any budget. Honestly, grab a few used Boss pedals if you are trying to save some cash. They will do you quite fine.

I'd go delay before chorus and tremolo.

For country, the main effect is compression and although most use it, not everyone does. Like artdecade said, get a Boss and be done with it.

The Boss CS-3 will definitely get you started in the right direction.

A clean Tele sound through a tube amp should do the trick, IMO. Maybe some comp, and a little slapback echo, but that's it, IMO.

The Marshall ED-1 compressor has a "Kentucky Twanged Chicken" setting. Think Colonel Sanders in a pedal! Used ones usually run in the $40-$60 range. Seriously though, they do a pretty good job, and are built quite well (weigh nearly 2 lbs).

I go with a tele and a tube amp, a little bit of distortion just to get a little more bite and reverb, done

Coutnry gigs- Single coil pickups, comp, decent dirt box, trem, short delay, long delay. Phaser if theres any Waylon on the setlist. Nice clean amp.

This'll cover everything from '62- 2012.

You don't need to spend a fortune. Boss pedals are fine. So are some others that are even cheaper. Any of this music made with pedals, if it was made before the late '90's, there was no boutique pedal craze. Most of the pros used Boss or similar, and many still have a Boss pedal or two on their boards.

If you can play, and dial your pedals in right, you'll be in fine shape for low dough. Buy used if you can.

When in doubt, just ask "what would Vince Gill do?"

It all depends on what sounds you want. Do you want to do Merle, Buck, Dwight?? Lots of good things have been wrangled out of just a Tele and a Deluxe Reverb...on-board vibrato and reverb the only effects used, if at all.

I wish a b-bender effect pedal was realizable
