I researched these pickups on the forum here a while back. Basically everybody liked the neck, but very few liked the bridge. Hope this helps.

It's true, the neck pickup is one of the more commonly praised GFS pickups, while the bridge version doesn't do it for a lot of people. I've never used the Fatbody neck pickup, but I used the Fatbody 7K bridge pickup in an esquire build, and liked it a lot. Nice full sound, great bottom, no ice pick.

I like the 7k Bridge in my Squier Standard, the pickup is 100% better than the stock pup. Still very twangy but no ice pick.

I don't know about the 10k though, I was planning on trying it in my impending Jazzsquire build but I guess I should research a bit more.

Never tried the bridge, but I can tell you that the neck pickup is awesome.

The neck is great. Very stratty sounding. No experience with the bridge.

I used a 7K bridge Fatbody in one of my Teles and was pleased with the tone. As others have written, twang minus the ice pick.

I just pulled one out of the bridge and replaced it. I really wanted to like this pickup. At lower volumes it sounded really good. It got really harsh sounding when I pushed it. I had the 10k over wound version and ran it thru an old JCM800. I'm a fan of the GFS pickups and have a few instruments with them but the Fatbody just didn't work for me. At least in the application I had it in. Might give it a second shot in another instrument later on.

the neck is nice (great strat tones) and IMHO, it pairs up very well with the 60s Hot Alnico bridge pup.
I've never tried/heard the Fatbody bridge pup...

I just install the set and they are really good pup's. They where right in reviews about those pup's, i founded they also have lots of sustain. The bridge is not ice pick and the neck is awsome, i found some similarity of tone whit a Strat neck pup(not the same but similar). Anyway i like them and they are staying in my SX Tele.

I have the 7k bridge pickup and like it.

Bigger, more solid than a classic tele pickup. Has nice clear treble without being harsh...

I'm installing a 10K bridge tomorrow morning - I'll report on the results.

OK, finally getting around to my assessment of the 10K Fatbody. I like it - to my ear, it's pretty consistent from low to high volume, and played clean, it has a sweet tone with a fair bit of "bloom". With some gain dialed in, it pushes the amp nicely, with a smooth, open crunch. Rolling back the volume increases the Twang Factor.

Again with a bit of gain, I compared it to the stock bridge pickup in my MIM standard FSR, which has a fairly compressed sound; setting aside any differences that might come simply from the fact that I was using two different guitars, the Fatbody again was quite open-sounding - less compressed than the FSR, but not flabby. To me, it has a nice bluesy tone reminiscent of Keef's grittier stuff.

My main complaint with the pickup is the build quality. The "cloth-covered wires" are regular plastic-insulated wires with a cloth-like covering over that...what's the point? It is not traditional push-back stuff. Also, the upper flatwork looks like it may have been forced down over the polepieces, so there is the slightest "tenting" of the flatwork, along with some minute cracking down the center. You have to get in really, really close to see this, though. The coil wire shows through the black twine covering in a couple places (again, only noticeable if you're really studying it), and it was a job to get the mounting screws to thread into the brass baseplate straight...they all wanted to go in at an angle. I haven't bought a lot of pickups from GFS, but a Strat set that I bought had similar cosmetic/fitment issues.

But we're talking about a $35 pickup, the cosmetic/workmanship problems are barely noticeable, and it sounds really good. Plus, those fat polepieces do look cool. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to fatten up a thinner-sounding Tele while retaining a nice, bluesy tone.
