Fralin Bridge poles... flush or staggered.. and why?

Sound wise... which do you prefer for dirt and clean tones for a 9.5" radius and why?

I was reading a thread about Groberts likeing the blues special set... then later on he mentioned they were staggered. I just kind of assumed most bridge pickups were flush. So now am curious if the staggered is actually better.
