those wide range humbuckers- are they all the same on the Mexican reissues, the American ones and now these?

Squier is sweeping the nation, I mean globe. It's interesting how the MIM have gone up so much, like the baja, custom, and deluxe...and while it feels good that we are getting these 'cool' squiers for affordable prices, it's only allowing them to jack the MIM up more, and the USA beyond reach for most. Heck most of the MIM models are priced are what we used to pay for USA.

Precious few alders in Indonesia.

MSRP is $499. They'll street for $350. Works for me. Maybe I'll try the Jag. You'll see them at GC first, most likely. But I won't buy it there.

Would be awesome if they were only $300 like those Stratocasters. I'd pay $350 with no problem though..

This makes me want to stop building this Telemaster/Jazzsquire I'm working on

Regardless, I will be buying either a JM or a Jag

The correct headstock on the Tele Custom also makes me pretty stoked on those

I'm not sharing your excitement.

I have an old 97 Korean Squier tele that someone gave me. I'm shocked at how poor it is. Unless they've got a whole lot better since then I would never spend money on one.

I choose not to answer that on that grounds that it may incriminate me.

But seriously, if Squiers are different beasts now, then that's only good news.

I also say, "Where have you been?" But that's your business, not mine.

Seriously. Squier guitars have come a long way since '97. Try a few of the CV series. You'll see.

Well, my Squier Pro Tone tele and thinline from '97 are so good that I have no need to buy their CV siblings (which are very good too). Now I want a jazzmaster. If it's not typo, all maple neck is a plus for me.

Ohhhhh man, totally buying a Mustang and a Jaguar, and maybe a Jazzmaster later, and then both Teles, and...oh, that's all of them.

Actually, I'll probably stay away from the Teles, just because I want to finish my Partscaster before I start buying new ones...but I definitely want the Jaguar and Mustang, and the Jazzmaster would go with with my Mascis, since it wouldn't have P-90s in it. I know those Duncan JM-101s are the ones they use in the VM Jazzmaster, I'm curious how they compare to vintage JM pickups.

I had to sell my MIJ J Mascis Jazzmaster to help fund my cross country move. Now I may just have to replace it with a Jazzmaster AND a Jaguar.

Good news.
