Wally Pedals April 18th, 2012, 11:41 PM Hey guys, here is an instrumental I recorded over the weekend. I used my Amercan Deluxe Telecaster with Fralin Blues Specials, into my Dr. Z Maz 18.
(Wampler ego, Paisley Drive, xotic ep and RC booster)
I called it chicken salad because I tried to mix up some of the styles I grew up playing with the chicken pickin'. (van halen, satriani, and vai mainly)
Check it out and see what I came up with. Here is the link:

Wally Pedals April 19th, 2012, 10:55 AM Thanks guys, CHeck out my other stuff too, but i usually don't get to really play like that on most songs, usually just a quick lead or short solo here and there. My next project is to record a solo instrumental album with this kind of stuff on it.

Wally Pedals April 22nd, 2012, 10:39 PM I just found out today that Danelectro has a vibrato pedal called "chicken salad". I guess I got to buy it just cause..... Anybody got any opinion on them? I know there pretty cheap but lot of their pedals get good reviews on here.
Wally Pedals May 8th, 2012, 04:20 AM Never got the dano pedal, but I just ordered me a Catalinbread Semaphore Tap Tempo. Can't wait to plug and play!

FenderLover May 15th, 2012, 12:17 PM That reminds me of a real Orange Blossom Special kind of vibe. Very Nice! Brent Mason is probably hoping you'll stay in Georgia!
Wally Pedals May 15th, 2012, 04:24 PM That's quite a compliment! I'm not worthy!!
ADinNYC May 17th, 2012, 10:36 PM Really great pickin' man!
I just got a Maz 18 myself and really love it. I'm finally happy with my tone. Only took 30 years.
Tell me how you got the recorded tone. Is that a short delay just panned to the opposite side?
Wally Pedals May 17th, 2012, 11:15 PM Thanks man!
Here is the signal chain:
Dirty- tele with Fralin blues specials - Wampler ego compressor - Wampler Paisley Drive - Xotic EP Booster- maz 18
Clean - same Tele - Wampler ego compressor - Xotic RC Booster - Maz 18
I use an e609 guitar mic
Each part is doubled manually, not track duplicated in the computer. A little slap back delay is added in the mix in some parts. Reverb is added in the mix too.
I EQ very little in the mix, I got the amp tone pretty much like I wanted it first. The Maz is my favorite, most versatile amp I have ever owned.
Thanks for listening to my track. Have a listen to my other songs too, although Chicken Salad is the only instrumental on there.
