Found a couple of things. Info is pretty scarce. It seems they have a bad track record with reliability.

I had one in the 90's. Nightmare, because I paid a lot to get it fixed, then had to clean it all the time, and the tape is a pain, plus the motor is noisy - you have to put it on another room to record, and the output was iffy. I had to sell it in a pinch. These things I don't mess with anymore. To get them fixed you pay more than they're worth, and it's not like it's a tube echoplex. Either way, you're better off with a Stomp box. The TTE Fulltone is fun though, and reliable.
