Saying bye to one of the fiddles... But what to do with the cash?

I'm gonna start by telling you what I'm selling:
Epiphone G-400SG for £210.

Now, I currently have a Fender Telecaster, MIM standard, the 2011 60th Anniv. model. I also have a good amp and quality pedals.

So what improvements could I make to the Tele with that money?

(Happy 100th post to me!)

Pair of Bare Knuckle pickups. You could spend the remaining 70 quid on booze

Well if you're opposed to sending it to me in the name of international goodwill between our two nations then I would suggest pickup upgrades.

You might look at Keystones or NoCasters in the MIM if it's sporting Ceramics and you don't care for them.

Is the 2011 anniversary model a NoCaster? I thought Fender just started marketing a 2012 anniversary model. Do those people celebrate the 60th anniversary of something ever year. I've got a 2006 anniversary model to commemorate the beginning of FMIC even though they hadn't even built and electric guitar then except a lap steel.

Those boys like to celebrate a lot!

PS: Happy 100th.

Lessons - that's what I'd do myself.

I think this specific anniversary is to celebrate the start of Telecaster ;-)

LOL, probably and I wonder what the next anniversary will be? 60 year anniversary of the 62 Jazz Bass or Custom Tele's in 2012 or the modern PBass body in 2016 ? haha. Like I said before Fender seems to celebrate more anniversaries than Elizabeth Taylor did.

Let us know what you decide to do with the spare coin from your sale. Sounds like maybe the MIM could use some upgrades if you wish. I have a 95 MIM and I actually like the Alnico V's in it but I'm thinking of putting a P90 in the neck just for giggles and grins.

I've got Nocasters in two others and Keystones in a CVC so maybe a P90 takes that MIM in just a little different direction

I would say save the money until GAS overtakes you.

Should take about a day on this forum!
