My blues trio played a short set here in town. I'm posting the 4 songs on YouTube. Here is Dust My Broom:

Unfortunately or fortunately, our camera went to sleep before we started the song. The person working the camera had to turn it on before recording, so we missed about 20 seconds. That is actually good news for me, as I have been playing an unaccompanied "wild man" opening. The guys in the band keep encouraging me to do it, but I am pretty creaky at it still. Working hard on getting my hands back into shape after a 25-year layoff.

Here is the version that inspired me to do a solo opening. Walter Trout really does a nice, dramatic job on opening the tune:

Wish the camera would have been closer so I could steal some of those licks. Learning that Dust My Broom lick on my Harmony acoustic after running across a few good Elmore James albums in the bargain bins convinced me I might become more then a strummer. The jury is still out on that. I always played it with slide but have been working on a non-slide version lately. I like yours.

It's an Epi Dot with 57s and a Varitone installed by our own Kokotele. It goes to a Zendrive 2 and MXR Carbon Comp Delay. The amp is an Orange Tiny Terror through a Celestion 12" (I forget which) in a Vox cab. The cable is Spectraflex, I think. I mention this because the transients, rakes, and fingerboard slides come through very well. I also like that string bends change tone as the pitch changes. It all creates a more human, voice-like quality. These sounds are very important to me.

Oops, I just realized that all 4 songs from the set are in this one clip. They are:

Dust My Broom
Green Onions
My Dog Sergeant Is a Good Dog
So Excited
