I love Telecasters. I love ukuleles.
These two loves combined to form the Telecaster Ukulele!
Much of the work that went into this project is the same that would be done on a full sized electric guitar build.
I modeled this electric ukulele after a Midnight Wine Standard Telecaster.

The body is made of 1.5 inch thick alder.

The neck and fretboard are formed from one solid piece of maple. The scale length is 15", which makes for a "concert" sized ukulele.

After the body was routed, I put some grain filler on the wood before I sealed the body.

Before I painted the body, I made sure that all of the parts fit properly.
Nitrocellulose primer, Midnight Wine paint, and clear gloss were used to finish the body.

I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
Here it is in action!!
