NGD D'Angelico

Well a traded second hand one!

It is a bit crazy to say the least but stunning all the same!

Looks like a keeper.

Wow! nice guitar...I went to the "Guitar Heroes" show at the Met last year and saw a lot of D'Angelico guitars (saw many of the same guitars last August at Rudy's Soho...) Very nice! (EDIT. Oh, and good luck and congratulations with fatherhood!)

At first I thought you meant your wife was in labor because she was having a COW over your new guitar. :)

I have only seen an old D'Angelico once in the 1980s from a music dealer who personally acquired one and was not going to put it up for sale and though there are newer ones at a much more affordable price, I am yet to see one in person. Are the newer ones with low production numbers?

She may still have a Cow as it isn't out yet but due any minute.

Obviously this is a lower end D'Angelico guitar but it is unbelievable. It's finish is as good as my Gretsch White Falcon and any of my Gibsons. I can honestly say it is fantastic. The real stinger is that I only paid $600 for the Taylor as I did a great deal on that last year.

Some would say that the Taylor is a better guitar with greater value but I prefer this one and that is what counts.

As for numbers, they don't make them presently!

The body and inlays are beautiful but DANG! That headstock is just something else (amazing)! I am so jealous.

Congrats on getting a gorgeous guitar, thats heirloom quality. If I tried buying that, I wouldn't have to worry about my Mrs.'s going into labor. She'd kick me so square in the jewels there'd be no chance to get pregnant.

That is truly a work of art. I mean like museum quality.

At the 2010 or 2011 NAMM show a buddy of mine took one of the late 30's model to the show to try and sell it.
Never heard back if he did. He wanted like 30K for it.
