Hi All,
I have an MIJ 62 RI Custom Tele (alder w/ a rosewood neck) that I am messing with. I like the Robben Ford tone and that's what I'm going for with this one. The bridge PUP is a Duncan Broadcaster, which works great for this sound. I am trying to figure out what I should put in the neck slot. I have another with an SD Broad and a Texas Special neck that I do like a lot, but...something different would be okay. Playing though various Blackface amps w/ a Barber Small Fry.
Thoughts?

Perfect! Thank you!
I'll say "Hey"...I'm from NY. Maybe we'll meet you guys in the playoffs. I'm an Islander fan but...the Rangers are looking pretty good...as are the Flyers. Of course if you're a Pens fan...

From the 2007 thread....
It's in his hands!! In one of his instructional videos he states that you don't have to spend a lot of money (like the Dumble) to get great sound. He goes on at some length about how he uses his right hand with and without a pick to get different sounds....he's got great hands!
TDPRI had quite a thread about a month ago with many fervent posts that tone does not come from an amplifier, or guitar, or pup, or cable,...

Well, as a Georgian, I must say I have almost no interest in hockey. I guess our team up and left for Winnipeg; that's good, I always liked the Winnipeg Jets.
I liked the Bruins all right when I lived in R.I. from 04-08, but my hockey preferences will always be based on NHL '96 for the SEGA Genesis.. in which case, go Blackhawks/St. Louis Blues!

Yeah...I agree with all of that. Still...some PUP's sound better to me for some things than others do as do certain amps and certain guitars. If I had to use what was in it already...or have only one guitar...or one amp...I would, but...I enjoy the pursuit of tone as much as I do playing. It's just fun for me so I do it.
