speaker choice

Hi, really getting close to finishing my 5e3.I'm going to order the speaker in a day or two.Was going to go with the weber signature series 25w .Saw a fender eminence gold label 8 ohm 50w .I want to try for a warmer sounding tone. Any suggestions on a speaker ,and can a 50w speaker be used on a lower wattage amplifier thanks

if you do a search, there is tons of good info regarding multiple speaker choices for the 5E3...yes you can run a 25 or higher wattage speaker just keep in mind running say a 15 watt speaker will break up alot earlier than say a 75 watt, but it's all a matter of personal preference...I went with the Eminence Cannabis Rex and am very happy with the tone and overall sound quality...a hot seller is a Weber 12A125A light dope or the 150 as well...good luck in your decision hope this helps

IMHO, it is hard to beat a Weber Sig12S for the money. If you play them at moderate to high volume, they sound nice and warm. They can handle all the 5E3 has got. They don't begin to distort (in a bad way, IOW, lose it) until full volume for an extended period.

IMHO, for the money, they're great.

Caveat: If you're going to dime it all the time get something more expensive.
