Crook Paisley background color

Hi guys,

As some of you might have seen I am attempting, like many others have done, to recreate the 1968 fender telecaster. I figured it would be best to try and emulate the crook relic pink paisley as its the best modern day emulation of the original in my opinion. Tomorrow I am going to go and pick out some paint to spray my primed tele body with, then I will lay the transparent patterned vinyl over the top. Could anyone here tell me the color that is behind the pickguard of the crook aged pink paisleys? I think he paints the whole guitar this color, puts a pickguard template onto the guitar and then sprays a tinted orange nitro lacquer over the lot to get the aged look on the rest of the guitar, which is exactly what I intend to do.

Thanks in advance guys

By the way, I'm leaning towards either an incredibly light silver or a very light beige

Fantastic. How did you get/do the paisley pattern? I want to do one too.
I can't wait to see how your build pans out. Keep the pics coming.

Hi Crafty Fox, I took the single paisley pattern found on Rafael's original paisley paper thread and changed the colours to the appropriate pink and greens. Then I copied and pasted it a few times in photoshop. Next I altered the paisley's so that there was less white space in between each ameoba. I got it printed on self adhesive vinyl (7 years lifetime, more when buried under lacquer), stuck it onto the guitar body and cut around it using a craft knife.

Huge effort, but the results look amazing.
