how do the xaviere XV-870. compair to fender [Archive]

how are the necks, similar or no. and hows the sounds. i really like there surf green models

I bought one to fiddle about with and mod - it was about worth the price. Finish (metallic gold) had flaws, body was thinner than a standard strat, pickguard was poorly cut, trem block was rough, saddles were soft. Neck had a decent feel to it, IIRC, but it wasn't very "Fender like". Pickups sounded OK.

I put a Mighty Mite neck with Gotoh tuners on it, and installed a GFS humbucker at the bridge...it turned out OK after a lot of work, but I never bonded with it, and ended up trading it at my local shop for a CVC Tele. He sold it within days of the trade, and for more than I would have expected.
