Bought the album "Wasted" yesterday, haven't stopped listening to it, sounds like his dad but with his own definite style, and he smokes on guitar. Check it.

My God This Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Realgoodandevil April 11th, 2012, 08:32 PM Bought the album "Wasted" yesterday, haven't stopped listening to it, sounds like his dad but with his own definite style, and he smokes on guitar. Check it. ce24 April 11th, 2012, 09:56 PM Yeah...I've seen him on tv a few times and he's gooood. has a bit of the dylan at times too with his phrasing.....the more I hear the more I like him. Jakedog April 12th, 2012, 11:11 AM I'll have to check out the record. I opened for him here last year, down in Kent. First time I ever opened for a national act and left the show early. I loved his voice, and his lyrics. I think he's a very unique and cool vocalist, while still sounding like his dad for sure. His band was barely top tier bar band calibre, and his guitar playing, while nice, got old quickly. Didn't seem to be much ebb and flow to the show, kinda one long song musically, that never really went anywhere. For the first few tunes, I was really into his guitar playing, after that I was thinking "Ok, I guess that's all there is". Not saying I'm any better, just that I expected more from all the hype. He also had a percussionist in the band, which I never really totally figured out. A three piece band, plus a percussionist with a full rig. I think he would have been much better served by having another melody instrument rather than the percussionist. Another guitarist, or a piano/B3 guy would have added a lot and made it a MUCH better show. It also would have kept Lukas' guitar playing from getting stale on me. Just my opinion. I will check out the record though, because as I said, his vocals and lyrics were really good. I could stand to check out some more of that for sure. |
