I received a V2 Pharaoh Fuzz yesterday and seem to be having a bit of a noise issue with it, though only when using an adapter (a One Spot to be specific). There is quite a noticeable hiss when the guitar's volume is completely lowered, or when there is no instrument cable plugged into the input jack of the pedal. Worse still, the hiss is added to the hum from the P90s I'm using once the volume is turned up. However, if I use a 9V battery instead, the hiss is almost completely eliminated, regardless of the pedal's volume level (within reason...).
What might cause this? I know One Spots have a reputation for being a bit noisy, especially when daisy-chained, but this problem occurs whether the pedal is powered through the daisy-chain or by itself. And it is the only pedal I have that has this issue.

It might be an issue with the polarity, check the polarity on the pedal and on the power supply.

A SHO clone I made was very hissy running off a One Spot. Quick A/B with an ElectroHarmonix wallwart showed me just how noisy the One Spot was. The EH transformer was still a bit noisy but much quieter than the One Spot.

This worked for me....I put a battery in my pedals and then connect them to the adapter.
Live or dead...the batteries seem to buffer out the additional noise.
Enjoy the silence.
Just remember to mind the older batteries for leakage...

I tried that last night, though I can't recall it making a difference. The noise level was the same once the adapter was plugged in, battery or no battery.

Oh...wow.
Well then...Um...I don't know what to say.
It's always worked for me and my pedals....

If you're not using batteries, you can put electrical tape around the 9 volt clip in the pedal. That's a safer way of reducing noise than leaving old batteries in your pedals.

Most eliminator jacks break the connection to the battery when you insert the plug from the wall wart, effectively taking the battery out of the picture
If the Pharaoh doesnīt like switched power supplies I think you should try with a regulated power supply that isnīt a "switcher".
Good luck!
