Custom carved top tele

Hey guys,
I'm currently looking at building my own first tele with a friend mine.

Just wanted to see if any one has done this before or have any tips with what i have.

I have a carved top tele body with 2x tv jones routed pups bought from warmoth.

I'm looking at putting in a fender logo B5 tremelo and also maybe putting in a floating pickguard.

I know that the B5 is commonly used on flat bodies however ive seen that it can be put on a carved top also.
Apart from that im having trouble locating a 'floating' pickguard.. i wanted something small like a cabronita or typical LP pickguard.

If anyone has this info it would be great.

I don't have any info for you Major-C but welcome to the TDPRI. There are al sorts of builds here that blend various styles and hardware. I'm guilty of a few myself. :twisted:

Anyway, read thru some of the 2012 Challenge builds and Challenge builds from previous years when they become available again, and you'll see all sorts of ideas and maybe some answers.

And consider making your own pickguard. You can use the Les Paul brackets and such
to "float" it.

You could try using a Les Paul pickguard and mounting bracket? might need a little bit of modification.
