I flipped by a PBS station the other night and caught some of SRV and Albert King playing together.

Just did a quick Google search and discovered this was what I saw:

I don't know how he got by me, but I don't own any Stevie Ray Vaughan stuff yet. Gonna have to fix that. And I've never of Albert King before. I was mesmerized by how he played his guitar. Both his hands seem to barely touch the notes, yet the sounds coming out of that Flying V were awesome. And correct me if I'm wrong but, I never thought of the Flying V to be a blues sounding guitar, I've always noticed it with metal bands. I'm thinking that's part of his thing?

Gonna have to check out more of these two for sure.

Albert is the man, Stevie certainly used plenty of licks in his style. I'd recommend just about any greatest hits to start with Albert King.

If you don't own any SRV, even though some will argue which studio album is the best, I'm going to recommend the Live at Carnegie hall album. It just has a great feel to it, has a good cross section of the popular and some more really cool stuff.

Now after you get done checking out this stuff, track down some Freddie King. It just doesn't get any better in my opinion.

Cool, I just made an Albert King station on my Pandora App. Maybe some Freddie will pop up as well!
