JesterR April 8th, 2012, 02:05 PM Hi! After buying my first reverb pedal, I messing around with it and my other pedals and find something, that has, IMHO, some NY style tone. Yes, it's not actually attempt to get exactly same tone. Especially, since I play with tele and direct to PC via preamp with amp sim, but I feel, that it has that raw qualities, like NY has in his more experimental albums like deadman soundtrack and Le Noise.
Also, I wonder that I have a lot of dynamics in my ODs pedal even without any tubes after them, from almost clean to total fuzzyness.
PS I am not trying to say, that I have many success in my attampt, just want to share it to folks here.

mal paso April 8th, 2012, 02:41 PM Hey Jester,
Sounds real nice man! Very Dead Man-esque.
Which reverb did you end up getting?
jamie.pope April 8th, 2012, 04:52 PM Sounds awesome. What did you use? Really dynamic drive sound.
gtrguru April 8th, 2012, 06:00 PM Cool vibe! So did you go tele into reverb into computer or you using some OD boxes too?
JesterR April 9th, 2012, 06:25 AM I did a photo of actual board with particular settings. So, chain was:
Catalinbread Fn5->Menatone WMB (boost side is off)->mxr CC->TC electronic HoF-> AMT F-1 for preamp and direct to PC, with software cab sim. So, even stacked together CB and Menatone gives a wide dynamic range. CB gives some raw mids and Menatone makes it sound huge.
PS Also I have space for another pedal, but I am not sure, which one.

tele salivas April 9th, 2012, 09:02 AM Jester, I did the same thing when I got my first reverb, I had to record the awesome vibe and effect that my playing was reacting through. It's pretty addicting, and Dead Man is a great vibe to go for. I think you got it man. That Catilanbread sounds really good. I've been thinking of something like the Fn5 or the RAH, Dirrty little Secret mkII. I don't play with OD alot, but man, do they have good OD.
lareplus April 9th, 2012, 05:15 PM That was pretty nice, JR. .
