Fender Super 55 Review:0 out of 100!

Has anyone tried the new Fender Super 55 pickups?
I got a bridge p'up from HD Custom and it doesn't work!!! I contacted them and was told they've had more than half returned already. The problem is the lead wires don't make solid contact with the quick connection plug. I've tried everything I can that's non-destructive to make a decent contact but I only get an intermitant connection. Very frustrating as I was expecting to complete the Harlequaster build this weekend.
HD say they'll send another, but that's after I return the dud. I've asked if they'll reimburse postage and also what's the chance of getting another dud; more than 50%? Too high a risk.
Not sure what to do next; send back and wait for another = 3 or 4 weeks, and if I get another bad one?
I've sent another email to HD but no reply, but I expect they'll be on holliday.
I initially thought I'd use the Super55 to balance the Gibson mini humbucker at the neck and I can use 1 x volume and 1 x tone pots, both 500K.
Any other stories on the Super 55's out there?

After 1 month and several emails; still no response from ebay store H D Custom on how to return non-working Fender Super 55 bridge p'up. Thinking of going for a Seymour Duncan 'Little 59' bridge to match my Gibson mini-hum at the neck. I've got 500K pots installed. Anyone else had problems with this supplier?

Thanks, that's a relief! I've been getting more from him each build but this pickup issue has really soured it for me. I'd like to continue shopping with HD Custom but if I don't get emails answered I tend to think they only want my short-term business. Maybe StewMac have raised the service bar so high that I expect good service from all suppliers. I will persevere. Thanks again.
