Amp Extension Cab w-Seperate Head & Tilt Back

I recently purchased a 1x12 cab and a 6W head. We play in a pretty small room. I want to direct the cabs sound up at me and not at my ankles. Pretty easy with a combo. All self contained. Wedges and stands work great. But now I have a cab and a head separate from each other. I did wedge the cab on the floor but need a little more angle. The increased angle invites the head to fall off the top of the cab. I'm thinking about 2 "Z" type brackets to lay on the top of the cab. One end hooks over the front of the cab points down and the other end points up and keeps the head from slipping off backwards. Any ideas out there?

You could always get a long enough speaker cable ,to where you don't even have the head sitting on top of the extension speaker cab. That way, you can do whatever you want with the angle of the cab and not have to worry about the head falling off.

Thanks. I thought about having the head be remote from the cab too. I think my ego and pride are getting in the way. "Mini-Staaaaaaaaack" !!!!!! Rock On !

I think you're idea of z brackets is really good and interesting as well...maybe even marketable?
You could possibly use an amp stand to get it of the ground and tilted up, then add extensions to the vertical legs so your head stays put. Make sense?

How do you like the vht head btw?
I have a friend who builds amps and we are talking about him coaching me through building my own hand wired amp from scratch. We discussed many different designs and I think a 6v6 based 6-15w amp would be ideal...something between a champ and princeton with a really good sounding pre amp circuit. Seems like the vht special6 may be a quicker route to my end goal though.
He is risen indeed!

Yeah it's kind of odd there is no manufactured solution for my dilemma. I like your idea of conventional stand for cab tilt and then extend the vertical to make the head stay put.

i have not played the VHT in a band practice. We'll see this week. Only played around the house effectively annoying my wife and the dog

Thanks

That's the smallest amp i've ever seen. Awesome. Should do the job.

And here I am planning to buy another 4x12 cab.

Yeah, I just put this pedal board together in the last couple weeks... first one. That's a Mesa TA-15 with a 1x12. I was wondering what to do with the head, and also wondering what to do with that extra space on the board, and boom - it hit me... just put the head on the board. It's handy there.. I have to bend over a bit, but I don't expect to have to touch it much.

Thanks everyone. Even though the head is not attached to the cab somehow we default to the head "must" sit on the cab. I'm experimenting with the AMP-150. The extension slides up to accommodate different mic booms. The head rests against the extension.
