A very soulful tribute to U2

I don't want to get political here but many of the responses on this clip were of people not believing on how a black band could possibly pay tribute to U2 and wondering where the connection, if any, lies. Well with U2 being Irish and coming from a very war torn part of that country, I would assume that they had more street cred then for example similar bands like Killing Joke or Joy Division. If a rapper like for example Coolio goes "I can't live a normal life, I was raised on the streets" he'd probably feel kinship with U2 when they sing about the war, the IRA and the violence that was part of their daily life.

But apart from that, very nicely done.

I've been a huge U2 fan since the early 80's. I admire the Roots tribute, but I've heard local bar bands cover that tune much better...maybe it was the mix?

Nicely done, I remeber seeing that air. The Roots are great band, and really blossomed musically when Capt. Kirk joined.

I'm not sure Dublin could have been described as "very war torn" when U2 were growing up. Sure, there were one or two terrorist bombings in the 70s but nothing on the scale suffered in Northern Ireland or in mainland UK.

I'm not too sure anything can be called "very war torn" - it either is or isn't...
