Type the words to a verse and a chorus if it has a chorus and post them, and I'll plug the chords in for you

I killed another man today, it's hard to believe,

well I lost track at thirty, and I've grown too numb to grieve.

The bottle helps me cope, when I lay down at night,

And when the dope rolls through my veins, it all fades out of sight.

Hangman, Hangman,

That's my stock and trade.

Hangman, Hangman,

Sending bad men to their grave.

But who killed who? I ask myself,

Time and time again.

God have mercy on the soul,

Of this Hangman.

there's a woman down the street, named Rosalie McFall,

She don't ask me any questions, when I come to call.

Her body keeps me warm, her words are soft and kind,

She holds me in her arms, 'til the bad dreams leave my mind.

Hangman, Hangman,

That's my stock and trade.

Hangman, Hangman,

Sending bad men to their grave.

But who killed who? I ask myself,

Time and time again.

God have mercy on the soul,

Of this Hangman

God have mercy on the soul,

of this Hangman.

Marty has the capo on the second fret and is fingering it like it A, so that is how I wrote it.

(A)I killed another man today, it's (D) hard to be-(A)lieve,

well (E7) I lost track at thirty, and I've (D) grown too numb to (A)grieve.

(A)The bottle helps me cope, when(D) I lay down at (A)night,

And when the (E7)dope rolls through my veins, it(D)all fades out of (A)sight.

(G)Hangman, Hangman,

(C)That's my stock and(G) trade.

(D)Hangman, Hangman,

Sending (C) bad men to their (G) grave.

(G)But who killed who? I ask myself,

(C)Time and time a- (G)gain.

(D7)God have mercy on the soul,

Of this (C)Hang –(G)man.

A C G D/F# A then the notes C(3d fret) B(2d fret) A on the A string, then C D A chords
D/F# means a D chord with his thumb draped over the neck to play the second fret E string

I think he does not always go back to A (or G chord on the chorus) at the end of the first and third lines. Sometimes he just lets the D (or C chord on the chorus) hang and ring. I could not view the one historicus posted; my internet was slowing down. I’ll look at it later.
