I purchased a set of pickups for a Strat with staggered pole pieces however one of the pickups has the pole pieces pushed down fairly flush with the top so they are now staggered along the bottom instead. Is there some way I can fix this without risking damage to the coil and pole pieces?

What pups are they ?
If they are a plastic bobbin it shouldn't hurt
If they are vintage style made of forbon you risk recking the pickup

Yes, they are a plastic bobbin. What do you mean "it shouldn't hurt"? Can I just force the pole pieces back into a staggered configuration?

Hi glen,
With some in fact most plastic bobbin single coils you can carefully push the magnets up or down and not damage the inside wires. Be careful I suggest having the pickup a little warm at least room temp.

Thank you David, I will try it tomorrow.
Well, that was fast. I simply laid the body of a pen across a pole piece and pressed on the pen. The pole piece slid into position. I did the same for the other pole pieces and checked the coil resistance, it is the same as before so all is well.
