Nutty Question

Two things. First I need a 1 1/2" string nut for my project bass. Found just the item at a popular vendors store here stateside (trying to avoid HK merchandise). It was about $10. Seemed high but WTH I need it so began the buying procedure. When I came to the $11 shipping cost I came to a screetching hault. My thinking is that this item can be dropped into a 50 cent envelope & sent priority mail why do they charge $11 to ship a nut? Anyone have a better idea for beating a $21 nut?

Secondly where can I find the procedure for imbedding links into a thread (or post)? Thanks & take care. Bob

I am guessing shipping is so high because you are not in the lowe 48.

Thanks Colt. Funny you should reply to this here. The reason I wanted to know how to post the photo was to get information later today on the Finely Finished forum in regaud to a refinishing job i am doing. Now I have to go out and take the photo of the project. Look for it later.

That shipping quote was to anywhere in the USA including AK. I used your link & bought my nut + a set of pickguard screws combined for a lot less money. Thanks again.
Take care. Bob

If you want to post a picture, you should upload your photo to a photo hosting website like photobucket. Then you can just copy and paste a link into your post, and picture will show up.

I use smugmug to host my photos. So far posting links here have not opened as photos but rather remain clickable links. I have been an active participant in a number of photographers forums around the net & have found that each has a little different way of imbedding photos.
I edited my last reply to you to give an outcome to the situation at hand. Take care. Bob

Copy the URL of your image. Look for the Insert Image icon just above your text box (fifth icon from the right). Click on it. Then insert the URL of your image into the box that pops up.

Here's one from your album, for example.

I don`t know why i am not able to do this correctly after following instructions.
When I paste the URL in the box that pops up it appears about two times and has [URL] at each end of it. I have never had a problem posting photos before so am confused about this. Sorry. Take care. Bob

You're clicking the wrong icon. Use the Insert Image icon, your image url will be placed between an and an bracket. If that icon isn't working in your browser for some reason, it will work if you manually type the brackets.
