Any one have experience with both of these pickups in the bridge of their tele? If so did you like one more than the other and can you give some general sound descriptions?
Also I am thinking of paring one of these with a Mean 90 in the neck. In your opinion(s) would one be better than the other?
BTW I would be most likely looking at the Moden Vintage Lil Puncher.
Thanks!

I don't think you can go wrong with the Mean 90. Lots of love for it around here. If you ask GFS they should be able to advise you about a bridge pup that will mate well with it.
They said my "Cool Vintage" Li'l Puncher bridge would match up well with the Vintage '59 neck humbucker. They were right!

I just replaced the 10k fatbody with the lil puncher in the bridge. I kept the fatbody in for a year cause I really wanted to like this pickup. It was just way to harsh sounding at higher volumes. The lil puncher I'm really digging. I was surprised that it didn't steal the character of the tele. Really reminds me of a p-90 type sound. Its in an ash body that has a very bright sound anyways and could be the reason it still has the tele vibe retained. I've seen plenty of good and bad reviews on the puncher. I'm a fan. At least in the instrument I have it in now. I put the modern vintage in also.

I sent an email to GFS and asked their opinion and they suggested the Fatbody because it would keep the character of the tele while the lil puncher would be more modern sounding. It sounds like your experience is more modern but without completely taking away the tele vibe... am I right? If so then I think that sounds like what I want.

I don't use the neck pickup at all on this instrument. Its a mini HB and to muddy. Altho the middle position is much better with the puncher in the bridge. This particular instrument is played thru an old JCM800,no pedals. I'm doing classic harder styled rock with it. I so wanted to like the fatbody. It was just so harsh once I got the volume up on it. Not just bright, it was quite harsh. At lower volumes, it actually sounded crunchy, and pretty good. The puncher is much brighter than I expected. So much so that I have to roll the tone back to around 4. In this particular guitar, the puncher sounds very "teleish" with plenty of smooth crunch. I don't think I've ever seen such a dramatic change in an instrument with a simple pickup swap. I will try the fatbody out in a different instrument sometime to see if it sounds any better. I just think it was not the right pickup for this guitar.
