Lollar charlie Christian neck pup question.

Hey Guys,

I built out a telemaster with a Bigsby that I"m beginning to really love after dialing it in.

Put a Don Mare Hot Bakelite in the bridge and a Lollar Charlie Christian in the Neck.

Sounds KILLER. But.... the Don Mare is pretty silent noise-wise. The Lollar however has a massive ground hum/static noise, that goes away when I touch the volume knob plate or strings.

Wtf? It's grounded to the pot just like the Don Mare. Stumped.

Any advice?? Or is this just how it is?

Thanks in advance!!

I had the same ground noise problem, the lollar CC hummmed and had the bad ground thing going on in a big way.
Esp in rooms with the dimmed and fancy lights. Not uncommon to single coil pickups.
I rechecked my soldering and shielded it, making sure that all the shielding connected and allowed the noise to "drain" out the lead. Problem solved.
