How do I become a "Friend of Leo's?"

Greetings, cool forum. Like most who are new to this, I have been watching for a while. You guys helped me decide how to re-wire at least two guitars. Many other interesting topics I could list...

About me: I have been around a while and I am a bit advanced (not my guitar skills), family-oriented, I get together every Sunday with my extended family and "the band". My first real guitar was a black Fender Musicmaster... what a cool little starter... traded it on a Peavey T-60 (always trade down), traded that on a Gibson GK-55 and kept that for over twenty years (I call those years "the dark days"). Woke up and bought a G&L SC-3, oh yeah... the lights are back on. I have wasted a lot of ink, so if anyone actually reads this and responds it will only encourage me to waste more regarding guitars.

Of course, I already have a burning question... under the "Avatar" some are listed as "friend of Leo" or teleholic, etc... how does this little tag line happen?

By the way, this outfit is a collection of wacky characters... you guys are great... long live the Tele!

I have the same last name as one of Leo's last business partners. It's also the name of city which he went to high school and junior college and where his last business is. With all that going, would that qualify me as friend of Leo's or just someone with a familiar name?

You mean the "Friend of Leo's" caption that happens when you've made 2,000 posts? It took me years to achieve that...

Hey Tele-beeb, welcome to TDPRI. You'll be a friend of Leo in no time. The only thing more addictive then GAS, AAS & PAS is TDPRI.

If you're from Hartford CT, I'm just across the river from ya.

The most efficient way to build post count is to get involved in a lot of threads for 1) Where is the tone? 2) Guitar Center 3) John Mayer. I think I got my highest post count in a "I went to GC to try a John Mayer strat, but the tone sucked and the manager wouldn't sell me a scratched Tele for half price" thread.

"I went to GC to try a John Mayer strat, but the tone sucked and the manager wouldn't sell me a scratched Tele for half price....Please tell me if I should buy it and if I should I should swap the pickups to get more twang like my CV50 which may or may not be better than a Ron Kirn or a Masterbuilt relic from the Custom Shop...""
