Low output switch in EC Tremolux?

Is this just a triode/pentode switch and can I put one of these in my 5E3? Also what are opinions on putting a triode/pentode switch in a 5E3 to cut volume while still getting it to break up?

At the cost of the EC, I sure hope it is not a tri/pent switch. I believe it is voltage cut switch(on farther reflection, I am wondering ig I am mixing it up with something else), a VVR with presets if you will. I don't feel that changing mode of operation is an acceptable way to control output power, it just makes to many changes, it is like a different amp, not a quite version of the same amp. An amp voiced to use a pentode output tube get dull, lifeless and generally boring when used with a triode for an output tube. I would suggest a VVR of some flavor first

I am intested in figuring out how this is done so anyone with a ec tremolux that can post some pics of the inside of the chasis that would be welcome.
