Standard or Vintage Noiseless

Ash Telecaster

Hi,

I bought a used American Standard Telecaster. Greatest playing guitar I've ever owned. It came with Seymour Duncan pick ups in it but also included Vintage Noiseless pickups as well as the original stock pickups. I'm not loving the Seymour Duncans. I know they are an excellent company and make many great pickups but these are just not doing it for me.

I was interested in your thoughts on Tele stock pickups vs the Vintage Noiseless. I'm going to make a swap and would like to give myself the best chance of making the right choice first.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have Vintage Noiseless in 2 Teles. I like them a lot, plenty of twang and tele sound IMO. Don't know what the the original pickups are. Try them both out and see which ones you like the best.

Thanks! I appreciate the input. I'm leaning towards putting them in. They are probably the higher end, more expensive pickups.

I'm putting the noiseless pickups in my tele...not liking the stock ones too much..I'm just one of those guys who hates noise....I would rather sacrifice a tad bit of tone than have all that noise from single coils an especially tele single coils....I like the quietness of the HB....

Thanks Paul. The problem I have with the loaded pickups is they don't sound "Tele" to me. They are the Seymour Duncan Hot for Tele pickups but they don't seem hot and they don't sound right. I wonder if they could be wired poorly?

I'm going with Fender Vintage Noiseless in my current BSB/blackguard build. They sound really good with 9's and they're quiet. Can't wait to try them with 11's. Oh yeah, I'm getting a 4 way switch too.

BradPDX just did a pretty good review of the Fender Vintage Noiseless. You might check his posts and check it out.

He went from VanZandts to the noiseless because of some of the venues that he plays.

Nice lookin' rig! Hard to beat a Twin and a Tele.
