advice

hey all. I have a MIJ fender Telecaster. it's the 90's tele custom i believe its called. I love the bridge pickup, it's got all the twang anybody could need. the neck however is kinda weak. Actually both are weak in power output. anybody tried a set of fender vintage tele pickups?

will these still give me my tele twang and more output? i need to change at least the neck pickup but would consider both if these would do what i need. i assume they have the copper baseplate on the bridge pickup.

any other suggestions on pickups or electronics changes would be great too.

keep in mind this is a stock japan tele right now.
its the white one here (same model anyway not the actual guitar)

custom shop Texas special set

i was thinking of those as well. are they still sharp/twangy? i own a tele with texas special pickups but i understand they are different than the custom shop ones.

I bought a set of 62ri pups and love the neck pup'' it's not too mellow like the later pups
on my 98 standard!
