The title says it all! Every day I get more into the classic Sun sound. I've been gigging around GA - back home between Johnson City TN and Boone NC now. I play guitar and harmonica and sing - background is country and blues. I'd also like to add a touch of Stax/Volt soul, some Chess/Checker blues and rock and a little surf. The Burnett Trio would be typical of the sound I really want and Robert Gordon w/ Link Wray or Danny Gatton playing lead would be the model and vision for how to do it in a more contemporary way.... well, that's as contemporary as I get!

Not sure I'd fit your gig as a player, but I'd sure like to hear whatever you put together. Keep us posted! I'm off 19E

Will do! I definitely plan to play the Asheville area - probably Tri-Cities most, but also Asheville, Boone, Knoxville, up into VA, anything in an hour drive and maybe over to Nashville if the booking is good.
I can play rhythm or lead, or both. Ideally though, I'd like to find a good lead guitarist with maybe more of a rock background since mine is mostly country and blues, so I could have some more freedom in terms of singing and playing harmonica. Of course, we'll also need a bass player and a drummer and if there is a Killer style piano pounder who would like to join up, that would be awesome!

I'm a drummer located in Bristol, VA. Really like the rockabilly trio/quartet idea!
