Nice! Never heard of it before, but looking at the Rolabd website the midi features look interesting.

This one doesn't have the built in GK that you run to an external unit. It's self contained, and models different guitars and tunings all built it. Only 1/4" cable out, and that's all you need!

I have the original, now discontinued Fender VG Strat. What exactly does this new model do that mine doesn't ?
Does it still run the modeling section on AA's ?
It is one amazingly versatile guitar.
Have fun, Mike

Yeah, loved the VG Strat. Honestly, it's just a newer processor, a few different acoustic models, some more "dialed" in guitar models. Oh, and it's a Mexi/American mix so it's a little cheaper too on the wallet.

Awesome. I'm waiting for a Roland Ready Strat to get to me. Do you know if there are any differences between those and this current model, besides the GK-3 vs the GK-2A pickups?
In the meantime, I'm using my GK-3 equipped SG as my only synth guitar.

Well, the "original" GK Ready Strat is a MIM model, with 21 frets.
The new GK Ready Strat (GC-1) is a MIM body with an American 22 fret neck. Both the new models are "hybrid" in that sense.
I played the G-5 at church and @ metal band practice this week and it did amazingly well. Definitely a super fun guitar to have!
