lefty tele pickup question

So I'm looking around at different pup options for my tele build, and it suddenly dawns on me that I'm a lefty... actually, it dawns on me that it might not work to flip a tele pickup that was built for a right-handed bridge around to put into a lefty bridge. So,

1. will a right-handed bridge pup fit if it's flipped around and put in "backwards"?

2. even if it does fit, will this create issues with tone/harmonics?

Hmmmm, very interested in knowing this also especially as pertains to a staggered pole pickup.

You may have issues with lead length and routing .
If you are concerned , buy lefty pups . This goes for pole stagger as well .
I have righty Fender CS69's in my hardtail Strat and I like them just fine . Righty pups seemed to work well for a famous lefty player back in the 60's .

This issue never occurred to me in 30+ years of being a lefty player until last week when I was considering some Lindy Fralin P92s on eBay. The pole pieces would be aligned backwards. They're good pickups; backwards or not -- they'll sound good.

I think it comes down to this: have you ever thought your tone suffered if your pickups were flipped? Different or not, I've never thought my tone suffered.

Getting gear to behave is easy; getting hands to behave -- not so much.

I built myself a right-handed Tele with a leftie bridge (taking inspiration from the Voodoo Strat) and a right-handed pickup worked fine.
