The new Di Marzio 615 is one heck of a pup. I've had mine in for over a month now and I am completely happy with it. Number one, no hum. Number two, played clean it's "vintage" bright twang. Number three, with OD it crunches and/or sings depending on what you want.It is scooped in the mids, but more refined and "tweakable" At first I thought it might be a gimmick since they offer "Twang Kings" and True Velvets etc. This pup has a place of it's own and it does what they claim.

I agree completely. I had a 418 in my tele and it always sounded good but just a tad sedate in the bridge position. I swapped it out for a 615, have the Area neck pickup and the whole thing wired up with a 4 way switch and it took the guitar up a level. More twang, snarl and attitude out of the bridge pickup, sounds amazing with fuzz or OD. All four positions are winners - really versatile setup.

AND THE WHOLE THING IS DEAD QUIET!
