Finished this today, it's a Studio Amp Stand out of Black Cherry for a Carr Sportsman 1x10 amp. The panels were inspired by the Carr Raleigh amp from the Curly Maple build I did a few weeks ago.
Here's the build thread for anyone interested in the process.

This is a matching pair of Walnut Atlas Amp Stands. One is a Studio design with an extension backrest. The other is a Low Rider design with a matching Table Top that fits perfectly in the center if the base of the stand. Both fold and are super light weight with attachments for a carry strap.

Finished up one of the larger projects this week. Walnut Low Rider Atlas stand with a fold out guitar stand to fit a LP, includes a seperate guitar stand for an acoustic as well as a powere pedal board.
The Amp Stand weighs 9.5 pounds
The Guitar Stand weighs 3 pounds
The Pedal Board weighs 8 pounds
It's an honor to build this kind of hardwood guitar gear.
And here is the pedal board as it would look if it were mine:)

Here are the latest Atlas Amp Stands completions from this past weekend:)
The first is a basic two-tone Low Rider with blue LEDs so that the owner can find his rig when the stage lights are down. It has a Cherry base and a Walnut backrest. It'll be holding a Marshall DSL401. The LEDs run on two AAA bats and will easily last several days without needing to be changed. I put my '68 Ampeg Reverberocket II on it and now I'm wishin' it was mine:) lol
The second build is a matching pair of Cherry Amp Chassis Cradles for an Amp Tech/Builder out of Canada. The front tray is for his tubes, components and building tools. I seriously hope each and every handwired guitar amp that he builds on them finds its way to a worthy owner, and once again I find myself wishin' they were mine:)

Just wrapped up a two tone walnut and cherry Atlas Low Rider for a Mesa Boogie Lone Star. I've figured out a way to secure the guitar stand strap to the door when it isn't needed:) Takes some extra chiseling but it works much better.

Here is the latest of the featherweight category Atlas Stands…I'm calling it the "Prism" Atlas Amp Stand. It is Walnut and Cherry with a Danish Oil finish. Total weight is 6 pounds. It was an enjoyable build. I think if I used a lighter weight wood than cherry I could get it down to 5 pounds.

July 29th, 2012, 10:34 PM
I have the "In Stock" page up again. I should have a few more amp stands on it by the end of the night:) Two "Featherweight" Low Rider amp stands are ready for a new home!

This is the first Studio Atlas Stand to have a rack space. It is removable as well. This one kicked my ass.
Here is the build thread:
Now onto the next one, a 30.25 degree tilt Walnut Studio Angle Table Top to fit a Walnut Alessandro Italian guitar rig:)
August 15th, 2012, 10:37 PM
Just finished building this Atlas Stands Low Rider with a matching Table Top tonight. It's made of Red Oak timber with an English Chestnut oil based stain. Has a 15 degree tilt with a 4 inch lift and matches my Ampeg quite nicely too:)

One of the Sweetest f-holes I've ever seen.
A rick, bet it sounds good!
And a solo…
All of which now resides in Quebec, CA.

Finished it... Walnut and Mahogany... The winner of last month's photo contest is getting this one. i'm finding that these "Prism" designs are not only lighter in weight, they're also super easy to handle because the holes make handles all over the place.
Here's the build thread...he won with an amp stand made out of legos!

I took this pic this morning and wanted to share. I'm glad I have a wood shop in TN, it's under that fog off in the background:)

Not my normal guitar gear build, but finally finished this Butcher's Block yesterday...Mesquite wrapped in maple and cherry with a smaller satellite cutting board to carry around the kitchen:)
October 8th, 2012, 07:54 PM
ok...so this one took me a month to build, but well worth it IMO.
It is the first Atlas Low Rider to have a removable and adjustable guitar stand to fit inside the amp stand. Black walnut, 14.5 degree tilt. The Amp Stand weighs ten and the guitar stand weighs six. The knobs on the side hold the guitar stand in position and the guitar stand cradle arms slide left and right to fit any size guitar. The cradle arms also spin on a cam that adjusts their height to fit asymmetrical body shapes such as a strat.

This is a newer design, I call it the "Micro" because it is so lightweight. It reminds me a bit of an Audi or a Porsche. This particular one is made of reclaimed American Chestnut…
Weight - 5.5 lbs
