Guitar Repair Resources

Hey everyone,

Any recommendations on useful guitar repair books or resources?

I've come across Dan Erlewine's "Guitar Player Repair Guide" and "How to Make Your Electric Guitar Play Great". Is there a huge difference between the two? Also, is there a huge difference between the 3 editions of "Guitar Player Repair Guide" warranting the purchase of the most recent? I've also found Hideo Kamimoto's "Complete Guitar Repair".

Do you guys have any endorsements or advice for the ones I've listed or others that would be worth checking out? What about websites, blogs, Youtube channels, etc. that are really useful, aside from TDPRI, of course. Thanks!

The two Erlewine books are worthwhile. Can't say about the revised editions.

Try Frank Ford's site frets.com. he's at Gryphon instruments and he has designed some of the tools and jigs you see at Luthier's Mercantile International and Stew Mac.

The videos at Stew Mac are pretty good, although you'll reach your own opinions about some of their specialty tools (the Jack-the-gripper is worth every penny, though).
