Building a Surf Green [Archive] - Telecaster Guitar Forum

I feel like I've made a mistake with the body I purchased. It has staggered holes for the thru body strings and the bridge is matched to it but I hate the bridge. My question is, is it a no no to widen the holes coming thru the bridgeplate to accommodate the fact that the body holes are staggered. This is my first build so I'm feeling kinda lost at the moment.
