Have an idea to have both of my guitars playable at the same time by having them resting on each other without being drilled into...
Anyone else built anything like this that might work for me?
I need my tele to be my main guitar on bottom and my schecter to be a solo or steel / slide type guitar for effect on top.

Do you *need* to wear both guitars all the time ? If not there are stands you can place an acoustic on that you step up to when you need to.
Failing that, perhaps some kind of extra long strap ? I'd recommend using straplocks of some kind if you do go that route though.

Only for some songs, that's why the bracket wouldn't be permanent.
I do have strap locks on my tele. Not letting it get dropped lol
I'd like to be able to play both on songs that call for it. Just set on on top of the other, think on the lines of how brita filters rest right in the pitcher but can be taken out....
Minimal construction, with the playability of a double neck guitar, then take it apart and play them separately....

Hmmm, how about 2 sets of straplocks on one long strap ?

Interesting, but too much clanging/scratching possible.
I'm thinking:

Where the equals are is the top of the bottom guitar, the open bigger box is where the top guitar rests in... The two larger boxes are padded with contours for each guitar to rest inside.
No friction, and you can take both apart easy.
Thoughts?

Something like an H beam with felt or similar padding might work to *lock* the two together maybe ?
For a somewhat grander solution, I'd suggest a Strat / Tele hybrid double neck for your next build project

The former thing you just mentioned is exactly what I mean.
Haha that kind of project is probably a bit too grand. I'd probably opt to buy a custom tele like such down the road. Or get sponsored and receive one lol
Either works. I'd rather play than build anyway
