finally had a chance to post a pic. got the axe last week. over-all, i was very pleased with it 'out-of-the-box'. i did lower the pu's. this got me a warmer, more jazzmaster-y tone. before i did that, the sound was a bit strat-y.

Very nice!

How do you like the bridge and tremolo so far?

Feels different than a Strat doesn't it?

That's a really nice looking guitar.

def a different feel. i'm enjoying the rhythm circuit mechanics. i like the trem very much, so far. only prob is getting used to the extra long trem arm- still getting used to working my way around it, when not in use.

Congrats...just got one last week myself. Was setup good out of the box, a little low for me but an easy fix. The tremolo, other than the bar won't stay in w/o modification, works well & although I use it sparingly no issues tuning. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

If your trem bar won't stay in, you're not pushing it down hard enough. It will snap into place. Put the guitar down on your bed and just put your body weight into it, I had to.

Nice, I love mine. I didn't think the pickups sounded Stratty at all, though, they sound like P-90s to me...because they're, you know, P-90s, basically.

I played one and loved it. It's hotter than my MIJ Jazzmaster, but I couldn't get the trem arm to stay in either and didn't want to force it in. For under $400, it's very cool.

Actually they sound like P-90s because they are P-90s, J Mascis had them made that way specially for that model.
Does the trem arm on this model lock in? I always hated that the MIJ ones didn't do that, worst thing about them really.

Edit* For those who don't like the trem you can also get an VML Easy Trem (http://www.easymute.freeserve.co.uk/easymute7.html). There are also cheaper knock off versions available on ebay.

Trem arm is locked on mine. Had to push it in real hard though. Excellent guitar btw. After playing mine pretty much all the time since I got it a month and a half ago I've noticed that I need to change the pick up switch and that the lower strap button is unscrewing itself. The trem is amazing, by far the best trem I've ever used.

You people stop it! Just stop it right now! I am not buying another guitar! Bad TDPRI, bad! Go to your room!

Nice guitar, BTW.

I may be selling off one of my dupilcate Strats to finance the purchase one of these. I want one, but don't really have room for another guitar. I've always wanted a Jaguar or a Jazzmaster, and this is the most affordable Jazzmaster that I have seen with all the classic Jazzmaster controls. The other Squier Jazzmaster just has a 3 way switch and 2 knobs. Hopefully my store will get another one of these in so I can try before I buy.

I really like mine.... Just saying.

Except for the bridge. Not a fan of the AOM (TOM) bridge. I like the mustang bridge better. Although I have yet to change the strings, my opinion might change with 11's...

Yeah, I was trying to make a joke and failed :p

I mean, they aren't TECHNICALLY P-90s, of course, they're wider and flatter if you want to nitpick, but they're constructed the same way, and they really do sound a lot like the pickups in my 60's Tribute. I'm not sure if J specifically asked for Jazzmaster style P-90s, my theory is that it was Squier trying to make it easier for young would-be Dino Jr cover bands to get a loud hard-rock tone...if he specified that style of pickup, then that's pretty damn cool.

Yeah, don't be scared to force the trem bar in. Just put a lot of straight-down, even pressure on it and it'll click in. It really takes a bunch more force than you'd think it would. You're not going to break your trem.

I have to stay away from this thread. This guitar looks so great! But I'm moving! I'm buying a new house! Aieee! Cannot succumb . . .

Cool!
I had one of the purple ones
The edge of the pick guard cut me up good, a couple of times.
Congrats!

Took your advice, tremolo arm staying in place. Thanks for the help!

thanks, all! REALLY enjoying the rhythm circuit. and getting used to the long trem arm. kinda like some of the old teisco trems, but with enough stability to hold the tuning!

tres cool!
