electricjr March 23rd, 2012, 08:32 PM Okay, it's an Epi- but I'm really impressed with it in every respect. Nice chunky neck (why do they call it "slim taper?"), very well constructed with perfect frets and nice binding, full size pots, well cut nut, Grovers, etc. It's a 2005 MIK, I didn't know if it was Chinese or Korean when I bid on it, didn't care for $385 shipped with a hard case. Anyways, this guitar plays and sounds great stock, I used to own a bunch of MIJ copies (Burny, Greco, Vantage, etc) and I actually prefer the feel of this Epiphone. Also like it better than my old Ibanez Artist AR250 (though the stock Super 58 pickups on that guitar were nicer). I'm actually pretty surprised at how nice the stock pickups sound, but I'm going to throw a pair of Dimarzio anniversary PAFs in there. I kind of wish it was a black one, but this was the best deal on Ebay, and I got lucky with a great player.

audiohatemchine March 24th, 2012, 02:02 AM Korean. Top score there. Fantastic necks on them.
dcooper830 March 24th, 2012, 06:07 AM Nice!!
My first Les Paul was a 2002 Alpine White Epi LP Custom just like that.
I have since gone on to buy several Gibson Les Pauls.
And ya know what? I still have that Epi LP Custom and I still play it all the time at home and at gigs. It's just as awesome as my Gibsons.
Low action, straight neck, easy playing, great tone. Looks beautiful.
I love it and hope to never part with it.
Congrats to you and enjoy your new Les Paul!
hekawi March 24th, 2012, 07:00 AM gorgeous. love the alpine white

RezZ March 24th, 2012, 01:07 PM I owned one in black, amazing guitar. Regret ever selling it. Was a real heavy mother ****er though with all that solid mahogany.

It's funny, mine's actually light for a Les Paul; I've got a 2000 MIM std tele that's heavier. Do these have a cap on them, or are they all mahogany like the originals?
I haven't had as much time to enjoy it yet, since I've got a 1 year old and a 3 year old who demand a bit of time and attention- but I restrung it with 10s and oiled the fretboard, plays really well and sounds good stock, but I'm probably not going to be able to resist putting my Dimarzio PAFs in there for long. If these stock pickups are the same that were in my Korean Epi Explorer, than the Dimarzios will improve the sound considerably. But they do sound way better than I'd expected, not muddy at all, no microphonics and pretty articulate throughout the frequency range. Also, the taper of the pots is great, I've had some cheaper guitars where the controls were a bit tough to dial in sweet spots. I've only got my Pathfinder 15r at the house, but can't wait to play it through my SF Princeton Reverb (everything sounds great through that amp). Thanks for the congrats!
Hallski March 24th, 2012, 03:54 PM very nice, congrats. Always loved a white Les Paul.
