something comparable that a newbie could use..I just want to do my own backing tracks for a church solo thing..thanx

I use Cakewalk's, Guitar Tracks Pro 4. Pretty easy to use and I think the price is reasonable. I have a Windows 7 64 bit rig, and it works quite well.

I think Impro-Visor is a nice tool. It uses midi so the quality of the backing-track sounds are largely dependent on what software synth is used.
